In early May 2008, Chris Ecklund was proud to announce that he would once again be sponsoring and hosting "Yard Sale For The Cure" which would be taking place again this year: the scheduled date and time was May 31 2008 at 8:00 a.m. till 12 Noon in Allison Park.

Yard Sale for the Cure is an organization that raises money for Breast Cancer research and treatment by holding a series of Yard Sales in certain neighbourhoods across Canada. The old furniture, books, clothing, and related 'junk' that people are meaning to get rid of can now serve a much more valuable purpose: saving someone's life!

2007

On May 26, 2007 the 'Yard Sale for the Cure' event was held from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon in Allison Park. This event was featured on local media channels and newspapers.

This event, which Mr. Ecklund was responsible for bringing to Hamilton, raised a grand total of $ 800.00. This money was turned over to Yard Sale For The Cure, which will then make a donation on our behalf to the new Juravinski Cancer Center on Concession Street here in Hamilton.

Hello –

My name is Rachael Smith and I am the founder of Yard Sale for the Cure. We are a charitable organization that raises money for Breast Cancer Research and Treatment by encouraging Canadians to host a yard sale on the last Saturday in May each year, and to donate all or a portion of their receipts to Yard Sale for the Cure. This May is our 3rd Annual YSC and we are thrilled that the Hamilton community of Allison Park is hosting a massive group of yard sales in their community park.

I met Chris Ecklund this week and I can’t say thank you enough to your community. Every dollar your group raises for Yard Sale for the Cure will be donated to the local Cancer Clinic – Juravinski, for breast cancer treatment.
